I use this carbon monoxide detector in my cargo trailer that has been converted into a camper/hauler. I never heard it go off until this weekend when I ran my atv inside. So I am happy to report it work! Just plug in and rest easy.

It works even during power outages the self test and reminder functions give extra piece of mind and a low battery alert is handy. It’s simple to plug-in and works well for RVs, hotels and travel being portable. Makes it easy to move wherever you need it to be for the price in Canada. it’s a solid choice for safety without spending too much.

It is light and easy to setup. Worth the money

I picked up this carbon monoxide detector mainly for some extra peace of mind, especially when traveling or moving it between rooms. It’s simple to use -you just plug it in and it starts doing its job. The screen is big enough to read without squinting, and the battery backup is a nice touch so it keeps working even if the power goes out. It also does its own self‑checks, which saves you from having to remember to test it all the time.It’s lightweight and easy to pack, so it’s something we’ll bring along for RV trips or hotel stays. Nothing fancy, just a straightforward little safety device that does what it’s supposed to.

My only real concern is the listed lifespan of just 3 years. Many detectors from my local stores typically last 5–10 years. That said, considering the regular price of around $40 CAD and the fact that it often goes on sale, I still think it offers good value despite the shorter lifespan.

Very easy to use

This CO detector is super easy to use - just plug it into an outlet, boom, you’re done. The buttons are quite self-explanatory and the instructions are easy to understand. Once you take out the little battery spacer, your battery backup is good to go, works just fine. I don’t have any fuel burning things, but I do have an attached garage, so I put the detector in the adjacent hallway.One of my photos shows that the top outlet remains free to use. The humidity reading was low, reminding me to use my humidifier, lol, and the reading went up accordingly. The back of the unit shows what certifications it has - use your own judgement on whether this satisfied the safety standards of your region.
Overall, it’s a nice simple unit that provides a bit more piece of mind. Thumbs up from me.

This carbon monoxide detector came along at just the right time. New regulations have just kicked in that requires all homes and apartments to have a carbon monoxide detector. The landlord actually phoned a few days ago. “Oh, I have to give you a CO² detector." "No worries, I just got one, so we‘re covered.."
I placed this detector in the kitchen, the most likely trouble spot. It not only shows the level of any CO² that may be present, but also temperature and humidity, which is a plus.

It does have self-test mode, but to make SURE it works, I lit an incense stick and placed the detector and stick under a raised cat litter box, after around 30 seconds the detector buzzed and showed a reading of 14ppm, so that is peace of mind confirmation.

I can find no negatives with this CO² detector; it's sensitive, has full readout, shows temperature and humidity, and has a battery backup, in fact it works as a portable detector without being plugged in. I highly recommend the LSENLTY Carbon Monoxide Detector.

Let‘s start off with the most important bits:- You most likely DO NEED this in Ontario, Canada as of 1 Jan 2026, unless you already have a CO sensor.
- It has the two AAA batteries included in the package!
- It can also show temperature and humidity!
- You can turn the screen off!

While the above may seem silly, you can't take these for granted. As it uses regular AAA batteries as a backup power source, you don't have to worry about those annoying 9V batteries anymore, and can take it with you.
Also, it can double as kind of a thermostat, which is handy. I appreciate these devices with screens where the screens aren't useless 99% of the time. Best part is: you can turn the screen off, so it won't bother you at night. You can also dim it. When the screen is off, the only thing lighting up once in a while is a small green light that's not annoying.
Self-test shows that everything works. You can also reduce alarms. The alarm light is a large white and bright LED.

You plug it in, it turns on, and it just sits there doing its thing. It tells you when the batteries are low instead of letting you find out the hard way.

The plug itself can be removed for a different adapter, but not sure where one would get it if they were traveling to somewhere like Europe. Better to just stick to the batteries in that case.

The only thing I wish it had was a higher placement of the power plug. While it's close enough, it may take up more than one outlet space when plugged in, depending on your setup.

Manuals are a bit messy (some wording inconsistencies), but once it’s running, you don’t really need to think about it again. Which, for a carbon monoxide detector, is kind of the whole goal.

When the power is out, the “emergency” light comes on, which is a usefully feature. I have this plugged in by the garage and is clearly visible when I enter the house. When CO is detected the noise is loud and should be easily heard even when farther way.

Very happy with this carbon monoxide detector. It’s exactly what I needed to meet the new Ontario provincial carbon monoxide alarm requirements that came into effect as of January 1, 2026. Under the updated Ontario Fire Code, homes with fuel-burning appliances, fireplaces, or attached garages must now have working CO alarms on every storey and near sleeping areas to keep occupants safe from the invisible and odourless danger of carbon monoxide. This detector gave me peace of mind knowing I’m fully compliant and protecting my family. Since it‘s fairly small and easy to plug in to any outlet, it was easy to find the perfect spot to place it.
Right out of the box, installation was simple and straightforward. The clear digital display and sensor make it easy to monitor my home environment, and the battery backup gives added reassurance that I’m covered even during power outages. There's some extra interesting features as well like the self-test and remind functions. I was very impressed with this carbon monoxide detector. Of course, it was difficult to test how much it was picking up, but I do love the parts per million interface. What surprised me the most was that it had a very accurate temperature and humidity gauge included. Carbon monoxide detectors are required by law but they take up an outlet, so the handy features put this leaps and bounds above other detectors.
The only downside is that the screen distorts a little bit with the angle so you need to bed down to read the lower part of the screen.

First of all, the device uses electricity (it‘s a plug-in model) but also can be powered by batteries if the power fails. Do read the manual but the unit is exceptionally easy to set up simply insert the batteries and plug in. There are other features that we appreciate: the detector will let you know the temperature and humidity which is convenient. Most importantly, if the detector picks up carbon monoxide in the air, a the safety light will light up and a buzzer sounds. There is also a screen display that will warn you and this screen display have three brightness levels.

I live in a condo and have a gas fireplace so ordered this carbon monoxide detector to be compliant with the Ontario Fire Code effective January 2026.

The warranty is a bit confusing: the user manual and included customer service card offer a 3-year warranty but the French version of the customer service card offers a 4-year warranty. It’s likely a simple translation error but it’s worth pointing out for French customers.

The user manual says to test it using a lighted cigarette. I don’t smoke but when I saw one of my neighbours smoking outside, I ran out with it. He held his cigarette under it and we could see the CO concentration number rise. The alarm is loud enough to wake me instantly.
